|Region:||Naboo Mid Rim Colonies|
The Battle of Naboo was a strategic engagement, during the CIS Blitz of the Star Wars Galaxy during the Second Clone Wars, that took place during the Separatist's Core World Campaign, that was fought between the CIS and Galactic Republic, for strategic control of Naboo, during the Second Clone Wars in 17 BBY, following the return of the Trade Federation, and CIS Fleets from the Milky Way Universe after conquering earth and all other Planets in the Solar System.
Despite multiple CIS victories following the reclamation of Utapau, in 19 BBY, the Galactic Republic managed to pull the largest of the ground forces towards the defense of Naboo, in order to prevent the CIS from arriving any closer to Corusant, and the rest of the Core worlds.
Though the CIS were able to land on Naboo, the Republic proved a valient in the defense of the world and defeated the CIS on the Naboo plains outside of Theed, forcing the CIS to temporarily retreat back into Space. The Victory on Naboo's Plains did not conclude the Battle, as the CIS attempted a second attack on Naboo's capital city of Theed, in hopes of forcing pressure off of the plains.
The sudden Invasion of Theed would capture the Republic completely by surprise, as most of thier forces were engaged in the fields, the CIS were able to over run the capital city of Theed and capture it, forcing the Republic forces to become trapped on the Naboo Plains, and driven to near slaughter.
Following an overrunning enemy, the Galactic Republic were then forced to abandon Naboo, as the planet was completely conquered by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Despite defeat, the temporary victory that the Galactic Republic had received during the first battle of the Naboo Plains, was able to boost some moral within the Galactic Alliance, in order to rise up in order to try and aide the Republic against CIS Invasion.
