Earth Imperial War

Created By: 2091riveraisrael

The Earth Resistance was a formidable and highly organized faction that emerged during the tumultuous period of the Earth Imperial War. This group, united by a singular and unwavering goal, sought to gather strength and resources on the frozen expanse of Antarctica with the ultimate aim of launching a counteroffensive to drive the Galactic Empire off the planet and reclaim Earth.

History[]

The Resistance was officially founded just three months after Earth fell under Imperial control and entered the dark era of the Imperial Occupation.

Its leadership was composed of a coalition of military minds and survivors from various nations, each bringing their unique expertise to the table.

Among the leaders were Japanese General Akashi Remoshi, American Commander Lord Mays, Soviet Minister of War Vladimir Molovo, and numerous other key figures from England, Europe, and Asia. These individuals managed to orchestrate the evacuation of remnants of their respective militaries before their homelands were entirely subdued by the Galactic Empire.

Once they reached Antarctica, they worked to establish a secure base of operations, holding out hope that they could recruit more fighters, rebuild their forces, and reignite the resistance effort.

Antarctica, with its brutal weather and ceaseless blizzards, proved to be both a sanctuary and a challenge. Despite the inhospitable environment, the Earth Resistance managed to set up a functional headquarters, leveraging their limited resources to sustain their operations. From their icy stronghold, they dispatched numerous raiding parties, utilizing air transports and icebreakers to scour the remnants of Earth for war assets—ammunition, vehicles, technology, and other critical supplies. These raids enabled the Resistance to bolster its defenses and expand its fighting capacity.

For nearly a year, the Resistance operated in secrecy, avoiding detection by the Empire and fortifying their position on the frozen continent.

However, their secrecy was not to last. In November of 2024, an Imperial reconnaissance probe uncovered their hidden base, bringing the Resistance’s operations into the spotlight.

The Galactic Empire swiftly mobilized for an all-out assault on Antarctica, determined to crush the burgeoning rebellion before it could gather enough strength to pose a real threat.

The ensuing battle was a testament to the resilience and determination of the Earth Resistance. Despite being outnumbered and facing relentless attacks, they managed to repel the Empire's forces in several areas, utilizing the harsh terrain and their intimate knowledge of the region to their advantage. For a time, it seemed as though the Resistance might achieve the impossible and hold their ground.

However, the tide of battle turned dramatically when the Empire deployed its most devastating war machines to the fray.

The arrival of AT-AT walkers, supported by a single Star Destroyer providing orbital bombardment and reinforcements, marked the beginning of the end for the Earth Resistance’s Antarctic campaign. The advanced technology and overwhelming firepower of the Imperial forces proved too much for the Resistance’s defenders. One by one, their strongholds fell, and their fighters were forced into a desperate retreat.

By the time the dust settled, the once-mighty Earth Resistance, which had boasted over 20 million fighters and defenders at its peak, had been decimated. Only 200 survivors remained, their numbers a stark reminder of the heavy toll of the conflict.

These survivors were not granted freedom; instead, they were captured by the Galactic Empire and conscripted into its ranks. Under the iron fist of their new overlords, they were rebranded as the 271st Legion, a tragic shadow of the resistance they had once represented.

The military forces of the Earth Resistance Armed Forces (ERAF) were divided into numerous categories and classes during the Earth Imperial War.

These divisions reflected the diverse backgrounds and capabilities of their personnel. Heavily armed and rigorously trained, the core units of the Earth Resistance excelled in utilizing advanced tactics and war strategies derived from the hard-learned lessons of the Fall of Earth Era.

This era marked a significant turning point when Earth’s nations fell one by one under the overwhelming might of the Galactic Empire, culminating in the complete conquest of the planet on October 22, 2020.

A majority of the Earth Resistance troops originally served in the armies of their respective nations before the fall. Their collective experience and knowledge became a critical asset in resisting the occupation. Drawing on these pre-existing military frameworks, the Resistance was able to craft innovative strategies to counter the Empire’s technological superiority, adapting traditional Earth warfare techniques to confront a vastly more advanced adversary.

However, not all members of the Resistance possessed formal military training or prior experience in structured combat. A significant portion of their forces comprised militia units—ordinary civilians who took up arms out of necessity.

These individuals, many of whom had never held a weapon before, fought valiantly to protect their homeland and loved ones. They were driven by a singular purpose: the defense of Earth and the survival of humanity. Despite lacking professional military backgrounds, these militia fighters often demonstrated remarkable courage and resilience in the face of overwhelming odds.

Over the decades of the Galactic Empire's occupation of Earth—from 2020 to 2069—the Earth Resistance was responsible for a series of devastating strikes against the occupiers.

These operations inflicted significant damage on the Empire’s infrastructure and resources, disrupting its grip on the planet. The Resistance's actions became iconic symbols of defiance and rebellion, rallying humanity to the cause of liberation.

Their efforts, though costly, showcased the indomitable spirit of Earth's people and their refusal to bow to tyranny, even under the harshest of circumstances.

Following the catastrophic events of Earth's fall to the Galactic Empire on October 22, 2020, the planet's military powers were almost completely obliterated. Most of the factories responsible for producing munitions and war supplies were destroyed in the invasion, leaving Earth's Resistance to piece together a military arsenal from whatever was available. Their weapons were a mismatched collection—comprised of salvaged remnants of Earth’s former military firearms and captured weapons from the Galactic Empire.

In the aftermath of the fall, finding traditional bullet-based firearms became increasingly rare. The relentless campaign of destruction waged by the Galactic Empire had wiped out much of Earth’s ability to manufacture and maintain its weapons.

Nonetheless, many of the remaining Earth-made guns, including assault rifles, machine guns, and other military-grade weaponry, were transported to Antarctica in a desperate bid to preserve them. These weapons were carefully hidden in underground bunkers and storage facilities, far from the prying eyes of the Empire.

By 2022, the Earth Resistance had constructed a massive weapons factory in Antarctica, aiming to revive production of bullet-based firearms. This factory represented a last-ditch effort to sustain Earth’s traditional weapon systems.

Meanwhile, Resistance forces increasingly relied on captured laser blasters and other advanced weaponry from the Galactic Empire, scavenged during skirmishes and covert operations. The captured technology provided a significant boost to their arsenal, although the learning curve for using and maintaining these alien weapons was steep.

Despite the factory's efforts, the challenges were immense.

The production of firearms required materials and expertise that were in short supply, and the looming threat of Imperial discovery was ever-present. In 2025, this threat became a reality when the Empire launched a massive invasion of Antarctica. The assault resulted in the factory's destruction and marked the effective end of bullet-based weaponry for the Earth Resistance.

Most remaining Earth-made firearms were lost in the conflict, though a small cache of weapons was smuggled out of Antarctica before the final engagement.

By the late stages of the Earth Imperial War, Earth-based firearms had become relics, prized for their rarity and historical value. Resistance soldiers who managed to find or possess firearms such as AK-47s, M16s, or M60 machine guns were often handsomely rewarded with large sums of credits.

These weapons, seen as symbols of humanity's resilience, were highly sought after—not only for their practical use but also as a testament to the strength of Earth's original military forces.

The Galactic Occupation's impact on Earth's weaponry marked the end of an era.

While laser blasters and alien technology became the mainstay of the Resistance’s arsenal, the memory of Earth’s traditional firearms endured, symbolizing a bygone age of human ingenuity and determination in the face of overwhelming odds.
