The Imperial Army Special Missions troopers were deadly special troopers under the Galactic Empire's Special Forces Command of the Imperial Army that were deployed to handle high-risk black-ops missions. Among the highly trained personnel that make up the Imperial Army Special Missions troopers were sniper teams, infiltrators, saboteurs, commandos, assassins, and slicers. They operated in the dark and behind enemy lines, and were fully aware that they were disposable and unimportant assets.
Though seen as unimportant, there value of importance would increase during the time of the Galactic Empire's official annexing of the Milky Way Galaxy after the Great Exodus ended with the initial closing of the Blackhole in the year 2027 (Or 5 ABY In Star Wars Years), and became better used throughout the time of the Earth Imperial War, up until the arrival of the New Republic in 2046.

During the Time and Reign of the Galactic Empire in the Star Wars Galaxy, IASMT's were mainly always used around the Star Wars Galaxy at the time of the Galactic Civil War, and were never once use on Earth at the time of the Imperial Occupation of the Solar System, and Earth at the time. It wouldn't be until 5 ABY, when the IASMT would be among one of the transports that would arrive in the Milky Way Galaxy through the Blackhole, where it would be at that time in 2027, where they could at last fight Earth Resistance forces one on one, with the only time that they ever fought the Earth Resistance was on Tatooine during their time the Earth Resistance's attempt in bringing the war to the Star Wars Galaxy.
During the course of the Earth Imperial War, The IASMT was mostly used to face the Earth Resistance in space, following the complete conquering and pacification of Earth in 2041, where they often were tasked with secretly following the Heavy Corvette the Sidiousus and preventing Earth forces from causing any damage to Imperial colonization efforts around the Milky Way Galaxy.
On July 11th, 2041, the IASMT attacked and destroyed a vital Communication hub for the Earth Resistance on Planet Ova, where forcing the Earth Resistance to relocate to the Platform using it as their main base of Operations.
